Loam is small infrastructure for a bigger idea: folders can be types, and Markdown notes can have a real schema without needing a database or a heavy app.

It is practical, boring in the good way, and useful for agent workspaces where the file tree needs to tell both humans and machines what kind of knowledge lives where.

What it does

  • Treats folder paths as knowledge types
  • Validates Markdown/YAML structure
  • Keeps the source files plain and portable
  • Gives agents a more reliable map than a flat pile of notes
